Iran builds power station in Iraq

Iran is building an electricity station with a capacity of 525 MW in the Iraqi region of Al Hedariye near the town of An Nadjaf, the agency MEHR reports today. Construction of the power station will cost $300 million.

Iraq imports 1000 MW of energy every day from Iran. Iraqi debt for energy imports from Iran amount to $500 million.

According to information, construction of the power station is a gift to the population and pilgrims to Kerbel and An Nadjaf.
