Roza Otunbayeva announces adoption of new constitution

The head of the provisional government of Kyrgyzstan, Roza Otunbayeva, has announced that a new constitution has been adopted and new authorites legitimized, RIA Novosti says.

'Today we have adopted a new constitution. The referendum has taken place, in spite of obstacles and the violent resistance of the opponents of the constitution. Thus people have finished the era of authoritorian rule by the two family clans of the Akayevs and Bakiyevs", Otunbayeva said.
