The Armenian Court of Appeal has freed Spartak Akodzhyan (Yerevan) of charge. The man was initially sentenced to 4 years of prison for selling a book called “Armenian Terrorism”, Armenia Today reports.
The man sold 10 copies of the book at Yerevan’s Vernissage in April 2011.
“Armenian Terrorism” was published in Baku and describes the processes of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict of the late 20th century.
Akodzhyan was charged with escalation of ethnic hatred (up to 3.5 years of prison). But he got a more harsh sentence than stated in the law. The court of appeal lifted all charges.
