South Africa will not quit purchases of Iranian oil

South African Minister for Energy Dupio Peters emphasized that the state would continue buying Iranian oil regardless of US sanctions, Trend reports.

Pretoria imports 26% of oil from Iran. 80% of it is used for fuel production.

EU states banned imports of Iranian oil on July 1.
