Russia and EU may abolish visa regime in 2014 - FM

Russia and the European Union may abolish their visa regime in 2014, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after a meeting with his Cypriot counterpart, Ekho Moskvy reports on Wednesday.

The Russian minister said that it will take only a year and a half to go through the formalities.

Russia and the EU started talks on a visa-free regime several years ago, but no agreement has yet been reached.
