Iran developing advanced anti-ship missiles - US report

 

The US says Iran is developing advanced anti-ship missiles and has enhanced its missile arsenal over the past few years, Press TV reports.

According to the report entitled “Annual Report on Military Power of Iran”, the US intelligence community said the Iranian-produced weapons, particularly its anti-ship missiles, are increasing in range and accuracy, the World Tribune weekly newspaper reported. 

“Short-range ballistic missiles provide Tehran with an effective mobile capability to strike partner forces in the region,” the report, submitted by the US Defense Department to Congress, said. 

“Iran continues to improve the survivability of these systems against missile defenses,” it further reported.
