Dombai 2012: Eurasian Union through the eyes of the young

In the resort town of Dombai the III Caucasian Forum of Russian youth is ended. This summer, it was held with the following motto: "Eurasian Union: It’s better to come together".
The current forum brought together about 250 representatives of active youth belonging to more than forty ethnic groups of Russia and the CIS countries. The topic of the discussion was the Eurasian Economic Union, i. e. the formation of common approaches to project implementation, the role of youth in it, the interaction between youth organizations in Russia and abroad, the formation of a positive and objective image of the Caucasus and Caucasians in the eyes of the citizens of Russia and foreign countries. According to the “veterans", the forum was different from the previous by the staff of the experts: the organizers did their best to engage the people versed in all the stated issues - scholars, political scientists, politicians, cultural figures, businessmen and journalists.
The president of the Academy of Geopolitical Problems, General Leonid Ivashov, the president of the International Islamic Peace Forum, Sheikh Muhammad Karachai (Bidzhiyev), the chairman of the North Ossetian Muslim Spiritual Department Khadzhimurad Gatsalov, the chairman of the "Eurasian center" of Bashkortostan Harmatulla Utyashev came to the forum. The latter discussed, in particular, the possibilities of interfaith dialogue in Eurasia. The result of the discussions is that the forum adopted the appeal to the Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika about the unjustified prohibition of Islamic literature. The topic of "Russian project" and informational harassment of the Caucasians was discussed at the meeting with the director of the Center of ethnic and religious problems of the Union of Journalists of Russia Sulieta Kusova.
The main result of the forum is the appeal to the heads of former Soviet Union. In this appeal the participants of Dombai-2012 supported the initiative of creation of the Eurasian Union and expressed their strong desire to participate in the process of its creation initiating the formation of the Eurasian youth government. 250 young people from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Estonia have stressed in their appeal In his people and heads of state that they "insist on the more active participation of youth in the construction of the Eurasian Union". "The Eurasian Union should be based on a detailed strategy of integration and development, in which geopolitical, financial, credit, cultural and educational doctrines and concepts will be formulated ", - the final appeal of Dombai-2012 says.
The guests of the forum were satisfied with this approach. The leader of the International Eurasian Movement, Doctor of Political Sciences Alexander Dugin said that "the intellectual level, the intensity of work and the seriousness of approaches in discussions show that this forum is among the best of the many activities of this kind held in recent years in the country." The chairman of the Presidium of the Russian Congress of the Peoples of the Caucasus, the president of the Foundation "Elbrusoid" Aliy Totorkulov saw the "originated in the previous forums friendships to become stronger and to turn into a common cause" in Dombai.
