Georgian Prime Minister discussed in Brussels air communication with the EU

During the working visit Prime Minister of Georgia Nika Gilauri held in Brussels on a series of meetings on making of some agreements on air communication. He met with his Belgian colleague Yves Leterme, with the European Commissioner for Transport Affairs Sim Calas and the European Commissioner for Enlargement of EU and Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule - reports "Georgia online".

As noted by Nika Gilauri, the most important part is the agreement on the establishment of air communication. This will invite more foreign airlines to Georgia and establish direct air links with many European cities.

 

"At the Brussels conference Georgia was promised 4.5 billion euros. From this scope apart of the funding accounted for the EU. In 2009 we mastered a rather large sum for the construction of housing for refugees. And this year we are going to continue the same projects and receive funding from the European Union," - said Gilauri.

 

Within the visit are also planned the meeting of Prime Minister of Georgia with the European Commissioner for Development of Europe Andris Piebalgs, European Commissioner for Energy Gunter Oetingerom, and the European Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht. Nika Gilauri also meets with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.
