Azerbaijan wins first award in London

Azerbaijani weightlifter Valentine Christov (under 56 kg) has won a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, News Azerbaijan reports.

This is the first Olympic medal Azerbaijani weightlifters have won. Azerbaijan could not win the top 3 positions, despite having World Champion Nizami Pashayev in the team.

Om Chol (Korea) won first place, Wu Yungbau (China) came second. The weightlifter needed to lift 159 kg for third place.
