US State Department praises freedom of religion in Trans-Caucasus

The US State Department has published a report on freedom of religion for 2011, Trend reports.

Azerbaijani Muslim, Jewish, Catholic and Orthodox communities presented examples of inter-religious cooperation in the society and government, Azerbaijani religion climate, construction of new religion centers.

No arrests were made during Ashura. Shiites recommended blood donation instead of self-beating. The Constitution of Armenia guaranteeing freedom of religion succeeded, News.am reports.

The US report praised freedom of religion in Georgia.
