Last week the plenipotentiary envoy of the Russian President in the NCFD, Alexander Khloponin, told Vladimir Putin about implementation of the North Caucasian tourist cluster project. According to the envoy, the corporation Resorts of the North Caucasus (RNC) is dealing with technical aspects connected with land registry. Later, the plots of land will be given to special economic areas of a resort type, and real financing of the project will be started. Khloponin said that the project “Arkhyz” is developing rapidly. By the end of 2012, five hotels and the second slope at a height of 2600 meters will be constructed. Today the registered capital of RNC is 14 billion rubles. In September within the Sochi economic forum the company plans to organize a so-called road show for all investors, to show them the actual facilities. A special resort territory is the Caucasian Mineralnye Vody. By September, the Mackenzie Company should presented the results of its work on development of Mineralnye Vody.

In North Ossetia within the tourist cluster it is planned to construct the year-round recreation resort Mamison. It is presented as one of key facilities of the tourist cluster in the North Caucasus. According to the plan, Mamison should be the biggest mountain-skiing resort of world standard with a wide price scale and a variety of services on offer. However, North Ossetian businessmen want to develop various original directions of tourism on their own.

At a recent meeting between Putin and the president of the agricultural-industrial holding “Master-Prime. Berezka”, Larisa Bekuzarova, she told him about the project of agricultural tourism. “Our children have got out of the habit of seeing a cow. They don’t know where milk comes from. Residents of towns and cities came and brought their children. They stay in a cottage, and every household has a cow. We teach them to milk a cow. A child who dips his or her hand into newly-drawn milk will never be bad again.” The agricultural activists are asking for 500 million rubles to build infrastructure.
