Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the recent threats from Iranian Major-General Seyed hasan Firuzabadi, Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, provoke Ankara to reconsider its attitude towards Tehran, Trend reports.

The general said on Monday that Turkey “will be next” unless it stops supporting US policy in Syria. Firuzabadi blamed Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar for the bloodshed in Syria.

The statement was made in the light of the visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi to Ankara to meet his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu. The diplomat requested Ankara to assist in releasing 48 pilgrims detained by the Free Syrian Army in Damascus. The Turkish minister promised to do his best to resolve the issue.
