European commissioner for energy wants more attention for Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh

European Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger has called Azerbaijan an essential ally of the European Union, APA reports.

He said that Azerbaijan’s part in the Eastern Partnership is a historic stage. Azerbaijan confirmed its important role in energy transport by signing the Southern Corridor Declaration.

The EU official added that the Nagorno-Karabakh Region is Azerbaijani territory, as stated in resolutions of the UN and other international organizations.
