Iran is hiding behind Moldova

Iran has sailed some of its oil tankers under the flag of Moldova and of

some other states, Portnews reports. The home port of these tankers

should be Giurgiulesti - the only Moldovan port on the Danube capable

of handling vessels carrying petroleum products.

According to some media, altogether 75 Iranian oil tankers were

assigned to ports in Tanzania, Tuvalu, Sierra Leone, Bolivia and

Moldova. At least eight Iranian vessels will sail under the Moldovan

flag.

The Moldovan authorities confirm that Iranian tankers sailed under the

Moldovan flag.
