Tehran Qur’an exhibition announces visual arts winners

Tehran’s 20th international Qur’an exhibition has released the name of the winners in different categories of the visual arts section, Press TV reports.



The winners were selected from among 158 artists who had presented 258 various works in the competition section of the exhibition held in the holy month of Ramadan. 

About 67 artworks created by 65 veteran artists were also exhibited in the non-competition section of the Qur’anic event. 

This year’s visual arts section hosted various forms of artworks including calligraphy, calligraphy-painting, miniature, illumination, poster, inlay and mosaic.


Several workshops in Latin calligraphy, inlay, painting and painting-calligraphy, Quran cover making and collage were also offered at the visual arts section. 

This year’s exhibition, held under the title “Qur’an, Culture of Awakening,” dedicated a section to the Islamic Awakening, in a bid to display the social atmosphere and street events of five Arab countries of Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, Bahrain and Palestine.
