Anti-Israeli protests in Iran

Iran has marked solidarity with Palestine by organizing anti-Israeli protests, Svoboda reports.

Protesters were carrying Palestinian flags and banners with “Death to Israel” inscriptions. Such protests have been held annually in Iran since the revolution in 1979.

Israel and Iran have tensions over Iran's nuclear program. Western states suspect Iran of developing nuclear weapons.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak want to attack Iranian nuclear facilities this autumn, but lack the necessary support.

US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said that Israel has not decided about attacking Iranian nuclear facilities yet.
