Iran's Red Crescent Society and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) plan to increase joint efforts to assist people in the quake-hit areas in Northwestern Iran, Trend reports, referring to Fars News.

In a meeting with Secretary-General of Iranian Red Crescent Society Zahid Rostami, representative of the UNICEF in Iran Mohamed Monir Safieddin called for promoting cooperation to accelerate dispatch of emergency supplies to the victims.

The UNICEF is fully prepared to set sanitary wares, field baths and other facilities in a bid to control the spread of diseases in the areas, he added.

UNICEF is also ready to help collect garbage of the zones and run educational and recreational courses for children, Safieddin underscored.

Rostami, for his part, stressed that the Society is ready to deliver the emergency supplies provided by UNICEF.
