Over 40 parties to take part in Georgian parliamentary polls

Two electoral blocks have been registered for the parliamentary polls in Georgia, Trend reports.

The first block is Bidzina Ivanishvili – Georgian Dream consisting of Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia, Conservative Party, Industry Will Save Georgia, Republican Party, Our Georgia – Free Democrats and National Forum.

The second block is Giorgi Targamadze – European Christian Democrats consisting of the Christian Democratic Movement and European Democrats.

A total of 41 political parties will be involved in the elections. The CEC will stop reception of electoral lists on September 1. Georgian elections to the parliament and Supreme Council of the Adjara Autonomy will be held on October 1. The parliament has 150 seats. Elections via the proportional and majority systems will be held in 73 electoral districts.
