Nalchik hosts talks on Elbrus tourism development

Ahmed Bilalov, CEO of the Northern Caucasus Resorts (NCR), and Kabardino-Balkaria Leader Arsen Kanokov have discussed development of the Elbrus-Bezengi Resort in Nalchik, management of skiing infrastructure by NCR (currently managed by Kanatniye Dorogi Prielbrusiya, Elbrusturist and Kurort Elbrus), Vestnik Kavkaza reports.
Bilalov said that tourists have had high demand for Elbrus resorts for over 40 years. The mountain has a peak of 5642 meters. Elbrus is a Russian brand, the official notes. It is also an example of cooperation of the local authorities and population.
Skiing infrastructure is well-developed. It gas cableways, Elbrus-Azau power line, gas supply, water treatment, sewers, plumbing under construction. The Prokhladnaya-Baksan Road project has been prepared. Kanokov ordered formation of a working group to cooperate with the NCR for realization of tourism projects. The primary goals at the moment are construction of the third-order cableway connecting the Mir Station and Gara-Bashi at a height of 3800 meters, reconstruction of the highest Russian hotel Priyut Odinnadtsati and completion of the Chegete cableway.
