One thousand servicemen of the Armed Forces of Georgia will get apartments in the new military housing area in the Isani-Samgori district of Tbilisi in September, News-Georgia reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia. "In September, the Ministry of Defense of Georgia will give one thousand soldiers keys to new apartments in a new military housing area. The apartments will be received by people who have been serving in the Armed Forces of Georgia for four years or more, and who, because they do not have their own apartment, live in rented accommodation or with their relatives," the statement says.

Officer–commanders will also get state apartments. By the end of 2012 it is planned that new apartments in the military town will be received by another thousand soldiers.

The day before, the Minister of Defense of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkin, got acquainted with the process of construction of houses and courtyards in the area in question, which was started in 2007. Currently, the infrastructure is under construction there. One of the apartment buildings has already been put into operation. Relatives of the soldiers killed during the 2008 war live there.

Providing the necessary military housing is part of the new concept of the Defense Ministry called “Total Care".
