The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, thinks that the situation in the
Caucasus is stable. Answering a journalist's question in Grozny,
he noted that publications about the deteriorating situation in the
North Caucasus are groundless, the press-service of Chechnya reported.

"The Caucasus is a part of the Russian Federation. It is ruled by
Russian law. Those who say that the situation in the Caucasus has become
more tense are mistaken. There is no hint that the stability in the
region can be disturbed.  We defeated international terrorism and
gained stability forever. There are still some bandits who
can organize an attack, but this could happen elsewhere," Kadyrov said.

According to him, the Chechen people have decided against any troubles.

"We follow the Russian and the Chechen Constitution. The government is

encouraging those who want to surrender and return to a peaceful life.

The rest will be eliminated. It is just a matter of time," Kadyrov said.
