In Armenia, deferment from army service for health reasons extended to five years

deferment from compulsory military service for health reasons will beextended from three to five years, Novosti-Armenia reports.
"Early release from military service due to health problems for people
under 27 has to be proved once every five years," Deputy Defense
Minister David Tonoyan said.
Previously, the law "On Military Duty" stipulated that defermentfor compulsory military service for health reasons could be provided
twice for a period of three years.
Upon the expiration of a deferment, the citizen is either called intoservice, or recognized as unfit for military service in peacetime and
registered in the reserves, or is recognized as unfit for military
service and withdrawn from the military records.
