Tajik border authorities deny presence of armed militant group

The Tajik border services denied on Friday media reports according to which an armed militant group had gathered on the border with Kyrgyzstan, RIA-Novosti reports.
"We spotted no groups of armed people on our territory on the border with Kyrgyzstan,” RIA-Novosti quotes a Tajik border guards spokesman Hushnud Rakhmatullayev.
Earlier Uzbek and Kyrgyz media reported that a militant group was operating in the border area.
