Krasnodar Territory 'loses tourists'

The flow of tourists to the Russian-Abkhaz border increased by 25% in August 2012, compared with the same period in 2011, totaling about 40,000 people daily, RIA Novosti reports.

About 32,000-36,000 people were crossing the border daily in August in previous years, a spokesman of the Black and Azov Sea Directorate of the Russian border service of the FSB.

The tourism flow to the Krasnodar Territory dropped after the floods and increased in Abkhazia.

About 40,000 vehicles daily were crossing the Adler border post in August 11-21. Over 44,000 people crossed the border on August 18.
