Armenian co-regent elected

The clerical council of the Patriarch of Constantinople of Armenian
Apostolical Church has elected a co-regent. The new co-regent of
Mesrop Mutafyan is Aram Ateshyan, Panorama reports, citing the Turkish
newspaper Hurriyet.


The 84-year old Patriarch Mesrop Mutafyan has serious health problems,
which led to the need for a co-regent.
