First deployment of "Cossack police" to take place today in Krasnodar

The first deployment of Cossack detachments, which will maintain public order along with the police, will take place today in the city of Krasnodar, Yuga rerports.

By decision of the governor of  Krasnodar Territory, from September 1 about one thousand Cossacks will take part in activities in the field of law enforcement along with police officers. 169 million rubles have been allocated for financing the Cossack police from September 1 to the end of 2012. In 2013, 650 million rubles will be allocated.

The initiative of the governor of the region, Alexander Tkachev, has been heavily criticized in the media. Tkachev said that critics of his decision simply do not understand the principles, traditions and problems of the Kuban.
