Head of administration of Kabardino-Balkaria transferred from prison to house arrest
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaMoscow's Tverskoy Court transferred the head of the administration
of Kabardino-Balkaria, Vladimir Zhamborov, who is accused of fraud in the sale
of the Philharmonic Hall, under house arrest, RIA-Novosti reports. The
decision to change the preventive measure has been taken at the
request of the court investigation.
In June it was reported that Zhamborov and his brother, former Deputy
Minister of State Property and Land Resources of the republic, Ruslan
Zhamborov, and the head of that department, Habdulsalam Ligidov, were
suspected of the illegal privatization and subsequent sale of the
Philharmonic Hall in the center of Nalchik.
Investigators believe that the change of the measure of detention is
connected to the deteriorating health of the defendant.
