Turkey opens temporary check point on Georgian border

A temporary checkpoint will open on the Turkish-Georgian border. Ziya Altunaldiz, an advisor of the Turkish Ministry for Customs and Trade, said at a meeting of heads of Georgian and Turkish Customs Directorates that the checkpoint will be open during construction of a tunnel within the framework of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway construction, TRT reports.

The checkpoint was called the Iron Silk Road for vehicles to cross.

A new checkpoint will open on the Turkish-Georgian border at the Aktas Village to fulfill the growing trade turnover and passenger traffic.
