UN secretary general accuses Security Council of inertness

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has condemned the UN Security Council for failing to support Syrian citizens and resolve the conflict, RBC reports.

Ki-moon said at the General Assembly that inertness caused big civil losses and damaged the reputation of the Security Council.

The General Assembly passed a resolution on the inactivity of the UN Security Council in settling the Syrian crisis. The document is declarative and has no obligations.
