Chechnya to host All-Russian People’s Police Officer Contest

Chechnya will host the All-Russian People’s Police Officer Contest, organized by the Russian Interior Ministry to choose the best police officer of the country, the press service of the Chechen government reports.

The contest is to promote the public trust of police, prestige of service and form a positive impression.

The contest will be held in 83 regions of Russia in several stages.

The district winner (first stage) will be chosen via Internet votes on September 11-20, 2012, on the official website of the Russian Interior Ministry.

The second stage involves voting for the regional winner. The All-Russian winner will be named before the Police Officers’ Day.

According to the Chechen Interior Ministry, over 500 officers will take part in the contest.
