EU to recognize new Syrian government

Members of the European Union are discussing recognition of the new Syrian government to replace President Bashar al-Assad, RIA Novosti reports.

Foreign ministers of 27 EU states will meet in Pafos (Cyprus) on Saturday.

The European Union wants guarantees that violence will be stopped, the rights of women, ethnic and religious rights respected.
