Russian captain fined for polluting Georgia’s Poti water zone
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaCaptain Ruslan Ovsyanetsky (Russia) sailing on the LANA dry-cargo ship under the flag of Malta has been fined with about $40,000 for polluting the sea and with about $355 for damage, News Georgia reports.
Georgian coastal guards, the Ministry for Energy and Protection of Natural Resources and Black Sea guards detained LANA at Port Poti (Western Georgia). The dry-cargo ship was spilled hydraulic liquid.
Victor Korneyev (Russia), Alexander Demchnko and Nikolai Petrov from Ukraine have been fined for polluting the Poti water zone this year too.
