Georgia has potential for 5-fold electricity production
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaGeorgian Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili observed dam construction on River Aragvi in the Dushetsky District of the Mtskhet-Tineti Region, Trend reports.
The PM says that the country has the world’s second highest quantity of hydro resources per capita with only a fifth of the potential exploited.
17 dams are under construction in Georgia and more will be built in the future.
The Aragvi Dam will produce 50 million KW/h annually. The project is worth $11 million of investments. Construction at White Aragvi started in April and will end in January 2013.
