Olimpstroy green technology becomes standard

The green technologies of Olimpstroy developed together with the Russian Ministry for Natural Resources have become a national standard and the Center for Ecological Certification of “Green Standards”, Yuga.ru reports.

The standard includes ecological requirements to real estate, materials and energy sources. It will reduce pollution. Exploitation of facilities will have professional ecological management.

Green technologies are undergoing tests in Sochi. Gleb Vatletsov, Director of the Department for Ecological Assistance of Olimpstroy, said that the construction site has become a platform to implement technologies for rational usage of resources and fulfillment of ecological safety measures.

The Big Ice Hockey Arena uses low-energy lights, regulated depending on sunlight intensity. The Figure-Skating and Short Track Center uses energy-efficient lights at the façade. The Central Stadium will have a translucent roof allowing sunlight to pass.
