Chechnya asks for 7.5 billion roubles from federal budget

The head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, has sent a letter to Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev, asking for 7.5 billion roubles to be allocated to the republic, the Izvestiya newspaper reports.

The money is necessary to pay back Rosselkhozbank, the letter explains.

The republic owes some 24.4 billion roubles to the bank.
