Iran urges US firm action on blasphemous anti-Islam film
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAmid growing outrage across the Muslim world at an anti-Islam movie produced in the US, Iran's Ambassador to the UN Mohammad Khazaei urges Washington to firmly confront the elements behind the blasphemous movie, Press TV reports.
“If the Western countries and the US had firmly confronted previous cases of blasphemy, we would not have witnessed such sacrilege again,” Khazaei told reporters on Friday.
He added that Iran seriously expects the US government to firmly confront the elements behind the recent “anti-human and irrational move” although it unacceptably failed to show a reaction to earlier acts of sacrilege by American pastor Terry Jones.
On April 29, the radical American pastor, who on the anniversary of 9/11 attacks last year burnt copies of the Muslim holy book, repeated his heinous act at a Florida church.
The Iranian ambassador further emphasized that the US government should not neglect the blasphemous movie and cannot, on the pretext of the freedom of speech, merely condemn it.
