Sochi Olympic facilities to be certified under international eco standards

Sochi Olympic facilities will be certified under BREEAM standards, Yuga.ru reports.

Investors filed applications for BREEAM certificates for 12 facilities. They include hotels, sports facilities, transport infrastructure.

Gleb Vatletsov, Director of the Ecological Department of Olimpstroy, said that it is more of a desire to demonstrate strive for eco standards than fulfillment of the Candidature File obligations.

BRE Global, the Council for Ecological Construction, experts, Olimpstroy representatives and investors are attending a meeting at the ecological science and education center of the Sochi National Park.
