Ilham Aliyev receives FIFA president

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a delegation led by FIFA President Joseph Blatter, Trend reports.

During the meeting, they stressed the importance of holding the 2012 FIFA U-17 women`s world cup in Azerbaijan. They also praised preparatory work for the championship.

It was stressed that Azerbaijan`s government attaches great importance to sports, including development of football.

It was noted that successive measures were taken to build sports infrastructure in Azerbaijan`s capital and regions.

Joseph Blatter presented a special medal of the FIFA U-17 women`s world cup and FIFA`s pennant to the Head of State.

After the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev hosted a dinner in honor of FIFA President Joseph Blatter.
