EU to pass new sanctions against Iran
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe EU is planning sanctions against the financial and commercial sectors of Iran, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said at the UN General Assembly in New York. French President Francois Hollande said that Iran had been ignoring demands of the international society, IAEA for years, not planning to follow resolutions of the UN Security Council and continuing to develop the nuclear program for non-peaceful purposes, ITAR-TASS reports.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will make a speech at the General Assembly on Saturday. Six mediators of the Iranian nuclear program will have consultations about Iran on Thursday.
Foreign ministers of the UK, Germany and France wanted to prepare a new package of sanctions for the summit of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg on October 15. EU sanctions against the financial and petroleum sectors of Iran affected the country on July 1.
The US forbids its businessmen to have any deals with Iranian petroleum industry, shipping and insurance companies. Any barter with Iran was banned, including trade of securities and gold.
