Sergokalinskaya terrorist group eliminated in Dagestan

Gasambeg Islamov, killed in the village of Burdeki in the Sergokalinsky District of Dagestan, was the last member of the so-called Sergokalinskaya Group of terrorists, RIA Novosti reports.

The police found a submachine gun, a grenade and a large quantity of ammunition.

Islamov joined the group in April 2010 and was on the federal wanted list. The group damaged a telephone transmission mast in May 2010 and attacked police officers and technicians at the scene. 8 people were killed. The terrorist group murdered the head of the Sergokalinsky Regional Police Station.

Islamov was also identified as an attacker of canine handlers at the Sergokalinsky District and attacks on a SWAT team in late 2011.

A Turk named Muhammad (Sheikh Abdusalam), killed in May 2012, used to be the leader of the group.
