Iran to install analogue of flight recorders in cars

Iran plans to start producing black boxes in cars next year, Iran News reports.

Sayid Safavi, the secretary of the first conference “Protection and Security” in Tehran, said that passenger buses, traffic police vehicles and other transport vehicles will be the first to install the black boxes.

Iran has ordered the boxes in China and will use its own technologies in the future.

Safavi emphasized that security is one of the main social demands. Black boxes will improve traffic security. Such devices are common in many states, but Iran has not used them so far.
