Azerbaijan bans imports of Russian cars

The Azerbajani State customs committee has banned imports of Russian cars VAZ-21144 and

VAZ-21254, the head of the Committee Aydyn Aliyev said,

Novosti-Azerbaijan reports.

According to him, this decision is connected to the fact that these

cars have no ABS or airbags.

In May 2012 Azerbaijan introduced new regulations concerning the

certification of vehicles that demand ABS and airbags in imported

cars.

Earlier, the committee banned importing VAZ-2107, VAZ-2114 and VAZ-2115.
