Iranian defense minister visits Iraq

Iranian Defense Minister Ahmed Vahidi is on the first visit to Iraq after a break of over 30 years, Trend reports.
He will meet his Iraqi counterpart Sadun al-Dulaimi and other officials to discuss bilateral military cooperation. Vahidi said that Iraq played an important role in foreign and defense policy of Iran.
Iraq said that planes flying from Iran to Syria through Iraq were checked, because the US suspected Iran of supporting the Syrian government.
