The capital flight rate in Russia reached $58 billion in 2012, Ekho Moskvy reports on Wednesday.

According to the ministry of finance, before the end of the year the capital flight rate will reach $62 billion. However, former deputy minister of finance and former deputy head of the Central Bank Sergey Aleksashenko believes that the figure will be at least 70 billion.

The situation surrounding investment remains hard and the government seems reluctant to combat existing difficulties, Aleksashenko told Ekho Moskvy.
