Kislovodsk to host Kavkaz-Energo-2012 forum

Kislovodsk is hosting the 5th North Caucasus Energy Forum Kavkaz-Energo-2012 with over 90 companies and related organizations of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine attending, Business-TASS reports.

 

Energy demand of gross product dropped by 27%, compared with 2007. The figure will be reduced by 40% before 2020 using renewable energy sources. The Stavropol Territory exploits wind, solar, river, biomass power, Deputy Minister for Energy, Industry and Communications of the region Igor Demchak said.

 

One of the highlight projects of energy exhibitions of the forum is the design of a microdistrict using solar power, the first Russian industrial solar power system planned to be launched in Kislovodsk in 2013.

 

The forum’s program includes a plenary session on energy saving and improvement of energy efficiency, a conference on energy audit and energy service of the North Caucasian Federal District. Lections will be organized about energy saving and development of energy technologies in Russia. Innovative projects and new technologies will be presented. The forum will continue until October 6.
