Azerbaijan to join International Organization of Vine and Wine

The Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister, Ismet Abbasov, and the director of the International Vine and Wine organization, Federico Castelucci, have discussed the prospects of cooperation development in the wine and vine sphere at a meeting, a ministry report said on Monday, Trend reports.

The minister noted that the country's government has approved the proposal of the Agriculture Ministry to join the International Organization of Vine and Wine and internal procedures are currently being carried out in this direction.

According to the minister, the activity in the winemaking and viniculture sphere in Azerbaijan is going to be implemented in accordance with world standards following joining the organization in the framework of cooperation development between Azerbaijan and the organization.

Castelluci noted that in its turn the organization will assist Azerbaijan in the science and methodology of winemaking and viniculture, as well as increasing the quality of grape varieties in order to develop the sector.
