Theater director Sturua hopes to return to Georgia

Georgian Orthodox Christian theater director Robert Sturua fired from the Tbilisi Theater named after Shota Rustaveli by President Mikheil Saakashvili has congratulated Bidzina Ivanishvili’s Georgian Dream on winning the elections, RIA Novosti reports.

The coalition won the elections on October 1.

Georgian Culture Minister Nika Rurua dismissed Sturua from the Rustaveli Theater in Tbilisi on August 16, 2011. Sturua criticized Saakashvili and took part in opposition protests. The theater director moved to Moscow and became the chief director of the Et Cetera Theater of Alexander Kalyagin.
