Moldova denies reports on Nato base

A former aide to Moldova's defence minister has denied a recent statement by Transdiestria's KGB chief, who said that Moldova was going to establish a Nato military base on its territory, Interfax reports.

"The statement by the head of the State Security Committee of the unrecognized republic of Transdniestria, Vladislav Finagin, about the establishment of a Nato military base in Bulboak is absurd," Viorel Chibotaru said.
