NATO to continue cooperating with Georgia after Bucharest summit

NATO will continue cooperating with the new Georgian authorities and will focus on decisions made at the Bucharest summit and support territorial unity of the state, spokesman of the NATO Secretary General for South Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai said at the Tbilisi International Airport, News Georgia reports.
Appathurai arrived in Georgia on Thursday night. He will meet the administration of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, leader of the Georgian Dream coalition Bidzina Ivanishvili (winner of the parliamentary polls on October 1) and other members of the future government.
Georgian Dream got 87 seats of parliament, Saakashvili’s United National Movement got 63. Other parties failed to enter the parliament with at least 5% of votes.
The new parliament is expected to have the first session on October 21. Saakashvili presented Ivanishvili as the official candidate for Prime Minister.
