Russian vice-premier rules out shipments of forbidden weapons to Syria

Russian Vice Premier Dmitry Rogozin supervising military industry has rule out shipments of weapons banned by international sanctions to Syria, RIA Novosti reports.

The official said at a meeting with officials of the NATO parliamentary assembly in Moscow that contracts signed before the sanctions will remain in force.

A Syrian plane with 35 passengers, including 17 Russians, flying from Moscow to Damascus was forced to land in Ankara on October 10. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the plane carried illegal military components. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov denied the accusations.
